                                            About the Board

The KCCG was formed in 1988 by a group of approximately 70 artists from the Kansas City area. Over the years it has grown and improved its variety of services. Our Mission Statement, To provide a supportive environment in which the clay community can meet, share knowledge, and experience, promote public awareness of the ceramic arts, and foster creative and economic growth, is fulfilled in many ways. From offering member meetings about pertinent issues in the ceramic community of Kansas City, providing a scholarship for area seniors, facilitating monthly shows for our members, securing visiting artists to come in and give workshops, and more!
With the large number of members we have now, we have an incredible opportunity to take the KCCG to the next level, but we need fresh ideas from new members like you! There are tons of opportunities for volunteering and you most likely have some skill that we need. Listed here are the actual official positions available at the Guild, but help is always needed at different times of the year. If you want to help, but don’t feel up to taking on the responsibility of a board position or committee chair, please sign up as an assistant and leave any contact info on the sheet and/or contact the Guild President or Vice President with this information. Thank you!
All members on the board must attend board and member meetings. Board meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month. They generally start at 7:00pm and run until 9:00 pm. The meetings are sometimes scheduled earlier if there are a lot of items to discuss. Board members should be active at the Guild and act as liaisons between the board and KCCG members.

                                            Board Elections

Elections are held every year during the month of March. Board members are nominated between March 1 - 22. You can nominate yourself or someone else who you think is qualified. Voting takes place between March 23 - 31. Votes are tallied on April 1 and the new board is announced at April's board meeting.
