An Interview With Todd
I have been working with clay for over 24 years and have been teaching at the KC Clay Guild for about 5 years. I teach beginners to advanced students. You will be taught the basics of wedging, centering, throwing, trimming and glazing. More advanced students will learn more advanced techniques.
I get most inspired when I am introducing someone new to clay. I love the interaction and the flow of ideas when talking about a student's work. The kind of artwork that inspires me is funky, challenging art. I find the artwork of artists like Robert Arneson and Adrian Saxe to be very inspirational.
The kind of pottery I make is mostly wheel thrown pieces that are altered in some way using hand building techniques.
The atmosphere of the class is loose and fun. Come to class and drink some beer, eat some pizza and learn to throw some pots!
